Like many others, I found this book via tik tok. The author seemed so excited and it was contagious and I had to get the book! I ended up DNF at about the halfway point. I give it points for trying to unique, but it reads like the same old story with a few new words slapped on. The MC was painfully a "pick me" girl. Constantly bemoaning how ugly she was...because she was blonde. Yup. Thats what makes her so insecure its a plot point. Also talking incessantly about how she "wasn't like other girls". If thats not bad enough, the other characters are the same level of just not great and basic. Maybe this was my own fault because I had higher hopes going into this story, but overall it just felt unedited. At one point a chapter ends in the middle of a scene. Seems to me like this author didn't have anyone beta read and it definitely shows. I gave this 2 stars because I think with a beta reader and more practice this author might actually have a decent story on their hands.
